Public Provident Fund

Scheme introduced by Central Government in 1968. The Scheme enables the members of the public to make contributions to the Fund and obtain Income Tax rebate under the relevant provisions of the Income Tax.

  • Tax saving scheme under 80C for individual up to Rs.1,50,000/-; Joint accounts not permitted; Multiple accounts not permitted.
  • Min. Rs.500/-
  • Max. Rs.1,50,000/-  

  • Minimum Duration 15 Years can be extended in block/s of 5 years before maturity.

  • Subject to change quarterly.
  • Available 

  • Partial withdrawals permitted after 6 years.
  • Permitted with conditions. 

  • Loan can be availed after 6 years.

  • Benefit available u/s 88 of the I.T. Act.
  • Interest totally exempt from Income Tax.
  • Amount standing to the credit is fully exempted from Wealth Tax.
